**IMPORTANT Information for ePrescribing in 2011**
Please note that it is critical for providers to participate in the eprescribing incentive program this year. Those who do not adopt and report using a suitable e-Rx system by July 2011 will be subject to a 1% penalty on all allowed charges for Physician Fee Schedule covered professional services in 2012. This means you will be paid 1% less from Medicare if you do not participate!

Our application meets all the criteria defined by Medicare to allow physicians to not be PENALIZED by 1% on covered professional services in 2012.

On June 1, 2010 a rule for electronic prescribing of controlled substances became effective. The rule requires functionality such as identity proofing, access control, two-factor authentication, and audit requirements. This functionality is currently being reviewed and will be built into Oncologyerx.com. Once development of such features are complete, certification must be completed by a certifying body. Once the certification or audit is complete the new product will be made available for current users. The requirements are still being reviewed and a timeline for completion will be released when available.

Until controlled substance prescribing is avaliable these medications must be printed. Click here for the DEA list of controlled substances. To report these to Medicare for the 2011 E-prescibing Incentive Program, use G8553.

More information on the new rules for allowing controlled substances to be electronically prescribed can be found here: Overview and Details.
